Inprovement on Feedback

Feedback: Below was the initial feedback I got for my WIP-formative presentation

Good introduction discussing SEO analyst, and optimisation for marketing. Skills Audit contains a lot of soft skills but most missing from the Learning Contract with outputs from tools discussed although its not clear how this can be fully evaluated.  SWOT is good, No Gantt chart as yet.  Your final Skills audit should be completed at the end of the module along with evaluation to show the extent to which you have improved (or not) the skills, need to fit better with your learning contract.   References included but not fully in Harvard format and few citations.

Improvements: Below are the improvements I have made.

  • Gantt Chart: Now completed and included.
  • Final Skills Audit: Now completed and included.
  • References: References have now been updated and are in the correct Harvard format.

Project Website( PROTOMUSIC)

Below (Section 1) is what the project website looks like, which is also fully accessible at olusola.learnersupdate.com/protomusic

  • All the contents on this page have been fully optimized for search engines. This is categorized under On-Page Search Engine Optimization
  • After effective keyword research using tools like the “Google keyword planner,” Ahref, and the implementation of Technical Search Engine Optimization, all the optimized contents on this website now appear on the Google search results page (SERP).
  • Local SEO makes it easy for people in the immediate community to access goods and services quicker, hence the need to submit the website “Proto Music” to “Google My Business.” The site was reviewed and approved, as can be seen in the screenshot in Section 4 below.

Evidence of Learning Contract

  • Section 1 below shows what the website looks like on a browser. The display has been optimized to be responsive to every device type.
  • Use the keyword “Mase Ke The One” from the content or content title.
  • Type this into the Google search box.
  • See the result in Section 2 below.
  • The result from the search engine results page shows that the post “New Music: Sola Legend – “Mase Ke (The One)” ranks number 1 and is on the first page of Google for the keyword “Mase Ke The One.”
  • Section 3 shows analytics data from Google Search Console showing the pages already indexed (Off-page SEO)
  • Section 5 shows that the site was optimized for mobile, with screenshots of responsiveness on desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

Google Search Console Analytics: For the project site to be accessible in search results, it is important to first submit the sitemap to relevant search engines including Google, bing, Yahoo etc. I have chosen Google for this project because it is currently the world’s largest search engine.

The sitemap was submitted, and relevant pages and posts were then optimized, as can be seen in the screenshots below:

As of the time of this screenshot, six pages were optimized, were fully indexed on Google, and could now be accessed from any part of the world.

Submitting site to Google and Indexing

1. Checking to see if any pages were indexed before submitting the sitemap to Google. As seen in the following screenshots below, the tested page(post) was not indexed and hence not available in search engine results.

page not in google

2. But after submitting the site to Google through the search console, previous pages and posts were resubmitted for indexing, and subsequent posts were automatically indexed, and seen in the following screenshots. Indexing, however, may take from a few minutes to a couple of days, depending on the content and consistency of the publisher (client).

Courses and certifications(Two, Premium)

Although I have developed some basic skills in the past two years as a self-taught SEO manager, it is important for me to have professional training to further get a good understanding of basic and industry standards of how search engine optimization works. I have started with these two listed below and completed them.

1. Yoast Crawlability and Indexability(Premium)

Olusola Elegbede successfully completed the Technical SEO: Crawlability and indexability course!

2. Yoast Keyword research(Premium)
